Devoted supporters of the pop star are calling for that a man who leaped a barrier and seized the actress during the recent Wicked: For Good debut be arrested or deported from Singapore.

A widely shared footage depicts the person identified as Johnson Wen pushing past camera operators and lunging at Grande while the actors proceeded down a yellow carpet surrounded by supporters.

Co-star Cynthia Erivo quickly guided the shocked star away from Mr Wen, who was seen being led away of the event by event staff.

Mr Wen posted on Instagram Thursday evening that he was "free after being arrested", though legal records revealed that he was scheduled to appear on Friday morning. It is unknown if he was faced legal action.

Record of Incidents

This is part of a pattern for Mr Wen, who describes himself as a "Controversial Figure", has disrupted a performance. His Instagram profile includes recordings of him disrupting other star-studded functions, including jumping on stage at the pop singer's Sydney show in June this year and in a comparable manner during The Chainsmokers performance in the area last December.

"There needs to be action taken against him as this is obviously a criminal offence," commented an Instagram follower, in a reply to a video Mr Wen shared of his actions.

"Oh wow so you do this a lot... how aren't you in jail?" a different Instagram user questioned.

Followers Voice Worry Over Ariana's Past Trauma

Several fans accused Mr Wen for "causing further distress" Grande, who had revealed suffering from PTSD after a terrorist explosion at the end of her 2017 show in Manchester, resulting in the death of 22 people and harming hundreds.

"Ariana has been through so many scary things... and at her Manchester concert and you thought it would be fun to jump the barricade?" commented one more message on Instagram.

Several fans also questioned guards at the premiere for not being adequately prepared; while different individuals requested social media platforms to block Mr Wen's uploads.

Reaction and Event Details

In clips circulating online, Grande appeared shocked when she was grabbed by the man. Her co-stars Michelle Yeoh and Erivo can be seen consoling her while Mr Wen was led out by guards.

Grande has remained silent on the incident, and the rest of the event continued without further issues.

Numerous of Singapore fans had waited to see the cast of Wicked

Hundreds of supporters had assembled in a mass of green and pink at the Wicked: For Good international debut in a Singapore mall, including some who had waited for as long as a significant duration before it started.

The film, to be released on 21 November, is the sequel of a two-film adaptation of the acclaimed theatrical production Wicked, which focuses on the unlikely bond between two very different witches.

The production itself is a derivative of the classic book The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.

Grande, who portrays the good witch Glinda, was dressed in a champagne pink glittering gown at the premiere while Erivo, who acts as the wicked witch, wore a black tube gown decorated with roses.

They were accompanied by cast member Jeff Goldblum.

The first movie, Wicked, was the highest-grossing motion picture of the previous year in the UK, and scored a dozen award recognitions, earning two for excellent wardrobe and production design.
