Netflix Casts Perfect Actor for Bon Clay in the Hit Series Season 3
The Secret Organization is set to play a huge role in Netflix’s upcoming season of One Piece, though the true confrontation won’t unfold until the third season, and a adored, popular member has recently been selected.
Netflix announced this week that Cole Escola is now part of the One Piece season 3 cast and will embody Mr. 2. This character has the ability to change into an exact copy of any person they’ve touched with their dominant hand. The performer, who is gender non-conforming and goes by they/them, will portray a rendition of that role reimagined as gender non-binary, rather than as a drag artist, in the live-action series, unlike the initial comic and cartoon version.
The new cast member joins several other recently announced actors who will portray the organization to the screen, including leader Mr. 0, brought to life by Joe Manganiello, an emerging star as another operative, and Sendhil Ramamurthy, who also joins the lineup as King Nefertari Cobra of the desert kingdom.
Even though Bon Clay is a important part of the group, the persona will be introduced in One Piece the upcoming installment. Considering the second season likely to portray the Little Garden segment, this represents a significant shift in the timing of Bon Clay’s introduction, one that could indicate more adjustments to the story’s structure.
Escola’s blend of excellent comedic sense and deep sensitivity makes them a perfect fit for the role. Along with their recent voice performance in the youth-focused cartoon movie Boys Go to Jupiter, they garnered significant recognition and multiple awards for penning and acting in the popular theatrical show Oh Mary!, highlighting the versatility they’ll bring to one of One Piece’s widely praised roles.
The platform’s adapted One Piece program is set to return for its season two on March 10th, 2026.
