The British government is prepared to move forward with employing the full worth of immobilized Russia's assets to aid the Ukrainian military campaign, PM Sir Keir Starmer has stated.

In a joint statement, the leaders of the UK, France, and the Federal Republic of Germany emphasized that this unified step would heighten pressure on Moscow's head Vladimir Putin and compel Moscow to engage in negotiations.

They further noted that the move would be executed in strong partnership with the United States.

British penalties have frozen more than £25bn of Russian assets since Moscow began its comprehensive attack against Ukraine in 2022. But, previously, funds allocated to the Ukrainian government using Russia's assets had solely been sourced from gains and dividends accrued on them.

Sir Keir assured President Volodymyr Zelensky that the Britain, France, and the Federal Republic of Germany were in agreement in their goal to drive progress toward employing the full value of the immobilized Moscow's national funds to end the war.

He stated that additional measures in the coming days and weeks would increase the strain on the Russian government.

This declaration comes after European officials convened in the Danish capital recently to consider using immobilized Russian holdings for a 140-billion-euro loan to the Ukrainian nation.

Recently, US President Donald Trump encouraged international partners to take or employ immobilized Russian holdings, based on news outlets.

The worth of immobilized Russian funds in the EU is estimated to be almost €211bn.

Moscow executed large-scale bombardments throughout Ukraine on recently, leading to electricity outages in large parts of Kyiv, the city, and several other zones.

Several persons were fatally injured and no fewer than 20 people were injured in the assault, authorities in Ukraine stated.

In a update on X after the strike, Zelensky commented that the strategic strike targeted civilian and energy infrastructure.

"What's needed is not mere statements but firm measures - from the US, Europe, and the G7 - in providing air defence systems and implementing sanctions," he emphasized.

"Every sanction decision undermines Russia's war machine," Zelensky noted, in a different message.

Also on Friday, Zelensky stated to the press he would press Sir Keir to join the weapons procurement program, under which partner nations purchase arms from the United States to donate to the Ukrainian forces.

While praising the Britain's consistent assistance for the Ukrainian government, he noted it should send a clear signal that it would participate in the initiative, as well as enforce more restrictions on Russia.
