Two Victims Revealed in Brown University Incident as Authorities Persist in Manhunt for Gunman.

Both young individuals who died in the recent tragic incident at Brown University were honored at the start of the week – amid a widespread hunt for their killer continued following the discharge by local law enforcement of the single suspect questioned in the case.

Tributes for Ella Cook

Ella Cook, a second-year scholar from Alabama, was called “a wonderful, steady, devout, shining presence”, per the Birmingham's Cathedral Church of the Advent, which paid tribute to her at a service on Sunday.

Her role included second-in-command of Brown’s chapter of College Republicans of America, as the club stated. The White House press secretary also posted words of sorrow on social media, stating: “There are no words. Keeping in mind her kin and peers, above all her mom and dad.”

The Second Victim

The other deceased individual was an Uzbek national named MukhammadAziz Umurzokov, from Uzbekistan in his initial year at the prestigious university, his family confirmed.

The victim's identification was officially acknowledged by the foreign office of Uzbekistan.

“He was exceptionally gentle, witty, and bright. He had big dreams of entering the field of neurosurgery and assisting patients,” his sister, Samira Umurzokova said in a online post.

What Happened

An additional nine individuals were injured in the violent event in the engineering department of Brown’s grounds in Providence, during the institution's end-of-term tests.

Law enforcement reported on Sunday evening that a man aged 24 detained in a raid at a hotel about 17 miles from the campus earlier in the day was being released.

“We have a murderer out there,” stated Rhode Island’s attorney general, Peter Neronha.

He added, “Occasionally a probe goes down a path, and then you need to change course and pursue a different angle, and this is precisely what occurred over the last 24 hours or so.”

Public Fear

Brett Smiley, Brett Smiley, noted: “We know that this is likely to cause new worry for our community”.

The gunman began shooting inside a room in the engineering building on over the weekend, discharging in excess of 40 shots from a 9mm pistol, a law enforcement official informed the news agency.

Officers that searched the hotel seized two handguns and two loaded 30-round magazines when the person of interest was taken into custody, as was reported.

Those Hurt

Regarding the nine injured, one student was allowed to go home, said Brown’s president, Christina Paxson. Seven more were in serious yet stable state, and one was in critical condition, police said on Sunday.

Durham Academy, a private K-12 school in the city of Durham, said Kendall Turner, Kendall Turner, was among those critically wounded.

Cook was remembered at a memorial in Birmingham on Sunday. A pastor commented, “She shone as a remarkable, stable, devout beacon not only during her upbringing... but at Brown University she was a radiant presence in that specific location as well.”

A group leader, Martin Bertao, released remarks from the group. “Ella was recognized for her bold, brave, and kind heart as she worked for her branch and other students,” he said.

An American diplomat, Jonathan Henick, said he was “extremely sorrowful” by Umurzokov’s death in a tribute. “We extend our sincere condolences to his relatives, companions, and peers and mourn the loss of his potential.”
