White House Decries 'Democratic Fabrication' as More Epstein Estate Images Released
House Democrats have made public a additional set of what they described as "troubling" images from the property of convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, featuring among others Donald Trump, Bill Clinton, and former British royal Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor.
The opening batch of 19 images—a portion of which have been previously circulated—combined with another 70 unveiled later on Friday account for a small number of the approximately 100,000 images handed over to the House oversight committee, which is examining the actions and ties of Epstein.
The shamed investor died by apparent suicide in a New York prison cell in 2019 after being indicted on sex-trafficking charges.
Prominent Personalities in the Images
Included in the notable figures shown in the opening set are well-known figures including movie maker Woody Allen; Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates; and Richard Branson, founder of the Virgin conglomerate.
Donald Trump is pictured in three of the initial 19 images. In one, he is seen with six women, whose faces are redacted.
White House Reaction
The White House responded to the release in a statement, accusing Democrats of selectively "cherry-picking" the images for electoral motives and to "seek to establish a false narrative."
"The Democrat hoax against President Trump has been time and again refuted," an administration official said, asserting that "the Trump administration has accomplished more for Epstein's victims than Democrats have ever done by consistently demanding disclosure, disclosing thousands of pages of documents, and demanding further investigations into Epstein's liberal connections."
Panel Member Remarks
The photographs were disclosed lacking captions, but according to a California Democrat and ranking member of the oversight committee, they prompt further inquiries about Epstein's associations with the rich and powerful.
"It is time to end this White House obfuscation and secure justice to the victims of Jeffrey Epstein and his influential associates," he declared in a release.
The publication of these materials occurs alongside the oversight committee pressing on with its investigation into the affair.
